Enable additional lesson duration options on your account so learners can book lessons in lengths beyond the standard 1-hour and 2-hour bookings.
Overview:
EzLicence supports a range of lesson durations to help instructors tailor their availability and services to learner needs. This guide explains how to manage your lesson duration settings, how lesson pricing is calculated, and what to check if learners are unable to book a particular lesson length.
How to enable additional lesson durations
Step 1.
Log in to your instructor account.
Step 2.
From your Dashboard, click the Settings icon on the left side of your screen, then navigate to Calendar Settings.
Step 3.
Scroll to the Lesson Duration section. You’ll see all six lesson length options.
Step 4.
Tick the optional durations you’d like to offer (1.5hr, 3hr, 4hr, 5hr). You can untick any you no longer want available at any time.
Note: 1hr and 2hr lessons are required platform durations and cannot be removed. If you need either changed, this can only be done by an EzLicence admin.
Step 5.
Save your changes. Once saved, learners will immediately be able to book lessons of those durations from your profile — provided you have enough continuous availability in your calendar to fit the lesson.
FAQ's
How lesson prices are calculated
Lesson prices are calculated automatically from your hourly rate. You don’t need to set individual prices for each duration.
For example, if your hourly rate is £70/hr:
- 1hr = £70
- 1.5hr = £105
- 2hr = £140
- 3hr = £210
- 4hr = £280
- 5hr = £350
The full breakdown is shown on your public profile in the Hourly Price section. Learners can expand the dropdown to see pricing for each duration you offer.
When expanded, learners see the price for every duration you’ve enabled, plus any bulk-hour discounts and Test Packages.
Why can't a learner book a longer lesson with me?
If a learner can’t see or book a longer lesson with you, it’s usually one of the following:
- The duration isn’t enabled. Check Calendar Settings → Lesson Duration and confirm the duration is ticked and saved.
- You don’t have enough continuous availability. A learner can only book a 3-hour lesson if you have a continuous 3-hour block free in your calendar. The same logic applies for 4hr and 5hr lessons.
- The selected date/time doesn’t fit the duration. The learner may need to try a different slot with a larger continuous block.
